There are many things to consider when putting together a commercial website (to many to list here), however, one such point I will make is the difference in website types. BNS Records Ltd have three main design criteria modes.

Front End Only

These are websites that deliver page content to the end user and are primarily static in nature. Static meaning they are not interactive with their vistors. You have your information displayed nicely and may have as many pages as required including a photo gallery. They can have a basic feedback/contact form so people can inquire about your business or products. Primarily, these websites are written is HTML using external stylesheets to keep the code clean and easy to read.

Basic CMS

These sites are written with a combination of HTML with external style sheets and PHP with is a powerful scripting language. CMS stands for "Content Management System". This enables the owner or webmaster of the site to login to a management area and do some basic tasks. Some of which might be:

Comprehensive CMS

A comprehensive CMS website enables the owner or webmaster of the site to login to a management area and do major editing. This is geared to high end users who require the ability to change web content on a regular basis. Usually, if a website owner needs something changed on their site and they are unable to write the code themselves, they would have to pay someone who can do it properly. This type of website costs more up front, but saves a great deal on the back end. You might also maintain a shopping cart on this type of site.
