Hosting

Hosting means that your web pages (website) including all images/graphics, sub-pages, scripts, email accounts, FTP accounts and anything else required to make your website run (excluding externaly linked content) is hosted on our Web Server.
In order for us to host your website you will need to :

1: Send us all of your website content (Via CD/DVD/Memeory stick).
2: Change your domain registrar information to point the nameservers to our servers (We can do this for you for no charge).

Website Transfer

Website transfer means to physically move your web pages and files from one server to another. If you have a copy of your current web pages, you can send them to us and we will load them onto our servers. You may then delete the old files from your previous hosting companies servers (or ask them to do it for you). We do NOT recommend doing this until we have notified you that your website is LIVE on our servers.

Email Accounts

When you host your website with BNS Records Ltd, you will be able to setup your very own email account(s). The number of accounts is dependant upon the hosting package you choose. With your own email addresses, you will be able to set them up in your favourite email client (Outlook or Outlook Express for eg) and use them like any other email account. You do not have to go to a website to send and recieve emails (Hotmail, Gmail for eg). We will help you in setting up your email accounts on our servers.

FTP Accounts

An FTP account allows you to login to your website using any FTP client. Once you login, you have access to upload new web pages and/or delete old ones. You may upload pictures, graphics or music and video files. Pretty much anything you want to upload. There are many FREE FTP client programs you can download and use. Type "Free FTP client download" into google and you will see many results. Personally, I use FileZilla for my FTP program. Filezilla is available for Linux - Mac OS X - Windows but the choice is yours.

Daily Backup

If there is one thing that most computer users avoid doing even though they know they should, it is backing up your data. BNS Records Ltd takes the hassle and worry out the situation by providing full data backups every 24 - 36 hours. If for some reason, a server was to crash and go down, we would have your website back online in no time. Of course it is a good idea for you to also save a copy of all your website files somewhere on your local computer. We offer peace of mind to all our clients.

Content Management System (CMS)

CMS allows you to login to your CMS account and modify the content of your website without the need to pay a web developer to do it for you. Any text you find on your webpage can be editable. It is a good idea to change your website content several times per year. This not only keeps customers coming back to see what is new, but also helps in your search engine ranking, moving your website higher in the search results for most search engines. With a CMS you can also do task like manage a mailing list and send out weekly/monthly emails to people who have joined your mailing list.

Content Management Systems vary depending on the amount of editing options you need. A basic CMS will give you a login account where you can do the following:

Change your password

Upload photos to your photo gallery

Maintain a mailing/subscribers list and send out emails
